Shaneen Murray is an author, a journalist, and an experienced marcom professional.

I discovered my love for writing in 1994 when I poured my thoughts onto paper about the East Coast vs West Coast rivalry between rappers 2Pac and Notorious BIG. Since then, I've written for various news outlets including FOX 32 Chicago. My writing style is similar to that of the "devil's advocate" to make people discuss and consider the issue in more detail. I've been known to cover stories related to entertainment, hot topics, concert reviews, and red carpet events. When I'm not writing I spend quality time with my family and I volunteer with my sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. I'm an avid concert goer who enjoys singing Karaoke and listening to music from Prince, the Golden Era of Hip Hop, the 70's, 80's, early 90s, and music scores from movie soundtracks. I love painting, attending plays, and sporting events. I recently published my first book titled "The Girl Code Rules of Engagement." My book is like a mentor, it teaches girls about the unspoken rules to womanhood. If I could be a color it would be Magenta because it's bold, rich, and passionate. My personal brand is "Magenta Dreams." I dream in color!
