Safelight is happy to announce that its Teen Ambassador Class of 2026-27 is on its way to creating thought-provoking safe driving awareness campaigns. This cohort represents 11 schools: Marist HS, Whitney Young HS, Mother McAuley HS, Southland College Prep, Lindblom HS, De LaSalle HS, Thornton Fractional South, John Hancock College Prep HS, Niles West HS, Adlai E. Stevenson HS, and Kenwood HS. At the end of the program, the Ambassadors will receive a scholarship for college.
The SafeLIGHT Foundation Teen Ambassador Program does not have traditional public star ratings or consumer reviews online, but it is highly recognized by state agencies and community partners for its advocacy work.
What is the Program?
The SafeLIGHT Foundation is an Illinois-based non-profit. Its flagship youth initiative is the Teen Ambassador Program.
• Target Audience: High school students from various Chicago-area high schools.
• Core Focus: Teaching peer-to-peer safe driving skills to prevent auto accidents and fatalities.
• The Mission: Ambassadors spend a school year creating public service announcements, hosting informational events, and educating peers on traffic safety.
• Perks: High schoolers get to practice leadership, build public speaking skills, and earn college scholarships upon graduating from the program.
