Born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, Jalina Logan attended what is now Gwendolyn Brooks College Preparatory Academy before pursuing a career in nursing. For more than 15 years, she worked across pediatric clinics, home health, and hospitals, before her curiosity about the deeper causes of health disparities led her into mental health. Today, she is the founder of Growth & Guidance Counseling Services, PC, a thriving group practice with offices in Illinois, Georgia, and virtually in Florida. Along the way, she became the first in her family to graduate college, work in corporate America, and build a six-figure business — milestones that shaped her passion for helping other women find balance, healing, and purpose.
This fall, she’s bringing that vision to life with the “My MIND is FINE: Women’s Mindset Mastery Conference,” a one-day event scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Hilton Oak Lawn.
Logan describes the conference as “a movement to help women understand that mental and emotional health should be affirmed, not overlooked. Our mindset shapes our future.”
The event will combine mental health, personal growth, and financial empowerment through keynote sessions, breakout workshops, and panel discussions. Attendees will also enjoy free food, raffles, networking opportunities, and — for licensed professionals — continuing education units (CEUs).
The goal, Logan says, is to meet women where they are: whether juggling family responsibilities, pursuing career goals, or struggling with identity and healing.
The day will feature a lineup of women leaders from diverse industries:
Breakout sessions will invite participants into vulnerable, reflective conversations with titles like “Help Me Tell My Story,” “The Way I See Myself,” and “I’m All Alone and No One Understands.”
For Logan, the conference is deeply personal. Raised by a single mother, she knows the pressure of being “the first” and the weight of high expectations. She admits that even after six years of running her practice, she still battles imposter syndrome.
“Some days I feel like I’m killing it, and other days I ask myself, ‘Do I really have what it takes?’” she shared in a recent interview. That honesty, paired with her achievements, makes her story resonate with women who juggle ambition, family, and self-care.
Her message is clear: women don’t have to do it all — but they can learn to find balance.
Tickets are available via Eventbrite or at growthguidancecounselingservices.com .
Though rooted in Oak Lawn, the My MIND is FINE conference speaks to women everywhere. It’s about creating space for healing, encouraging professional growth, and affirming that self-care is not selfish.
As Logan puts it: “If even one woman walks away feeling seen, supported, and confident in her next steps, then the work was worth it.
