A transformational women’s healing event is coming to Chicago as Dr. Kosha Joseph brings "Her Soul: The Experience" to Hyde Park on September 24–25. Unlike traditional conferences, "Her Soul" is intentionally designed as an emotional healing journey for women dealing with grief, trauma, or emotional burnout.

“This is not your typical conference,” Dr. Joseph said. “I didn’t want it to be another empowerment or business event. I wanted women to walk in heavy and leave lighter. I wanted them to have an experience.”

Healing That Began with Hurt
Her Soul was born from personal pain. After losing her father, Dr. Joseph, a licensed therapist, she quietly struggled.
“I needed something to help me heal,” she shared. “So I started writing affirmations and journaling. After I published that journal on my dad’s birthday, God dropped it in my spirit and said, ‘Something else has to happen.’ That’s where "Her Soul," came from.”
She knew she didn’t want to host just another speaking event. She wanted to address healing at its root.
“I’m a therapist, and I work with so many women who carry trauma every single day,” she said. “Some of it is grief, some of it comes from childhood experiences,  some from relationships. But a lot of women are still walking around unhealed.”

A Spiritual and Clinical Approach
From the beginning, Dr. Joseph was intentional about weaving together Christianity and mental health. “I always wanted to tackle this from a spiritual and clinical perspective,” she said. “You cannot heal without God being in it, but you also cannot ignore the mental and  emotional work it takes to heal. Prayer and therapy go together.”
She believes Her Soul offers what women often lack: a safe space to be vulnerable without judgment.
“Some women walk in carrying things they’ve never spoken out loud,” she said. “Unforgiveness, hurt, shame, trauma—they are still holding on to it. We let them know this is a safe space.”

Why Chicago?

After hosting Her Soul in Houston and Atlanta, she asked women online where it should go next. “Chicago was the top response,” she shared. “Women here asked for it. So I am coming to meet them where they are.”

The two-day Chicago event includes a VIP mixer on the first night, followed by the main experience on day two, featuring speakers, live conversations, and worship. The speaker line-up includes Veronica Holmes, Stephanie Hall, Crystal Smith, Addison, and others. Keynote speakers are Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, psychologist and media personality, and Dr. Cosha Joseph herself, who will speak publicly at her conference for the first time.
“I never spoke at the first two events,” she admitted. “I was still healing. I didn’t want to stand before women if I wasn’t okay. But now I am ready.” Dr. Joseph says women often suppress pain because they have no time to process it.
“We have to be mothers, wives, leaders, caretakers. We push our pain aside and say, ‘I’m fine.’ But we're not fine, and it shows up in our livee—anger, broken relationships, emotional shutdown. That’s unhealed trauma.”
She added, “Forgiveness is for you, not for the other person. You may never get an apology. You still have to move forward.”

An Invitation to Heal

To any woman considering attending, Dr. Joseph said, “If you are struggling with something, your time is now. We are not going into the new year holding on to pain. Her Soul is a safe space. Come and let it go.”
