Caleb Williams missed three games with a hamstring injury. In his first game back, he completed his first 12 passes.

Williams finished 30 of 36 for 305 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-23 win at Atlanta, opening the scoring with a 14-yard throw to tight end Colston Loveland. "Felt comfortable from the rip," he said afterward. D'Andre Swift ran for two touchdowns, and cornerback Kyler Gordon had three sacks and two forced fumbles. Chicago led 31-7 before the Falcons scored 16 points in the fourth quarter.

The win moved the Bears to 4-2, tied with Green Bay and two games behind undefeated Minnesota in the NFC North. Coach Ben Johnson pointed to the 12 penalties for 133 yards. The team, he said, has to play cleaner.

The schedule allows little rest. The Bears host New England on Thursday night at Soldier Field, then play at Seattle on Monday, Nov. 2.
